Favorite Paint Color ~ Benjamin Moore Wythe Blue

Hello friends!  Happy Huesday to you!

Some of you may know that part of my job involves working with paint colors and finishes every day, and it's something I really enjoy.  Well...it's enjoyable as long as I'm not trying to choose a color for my house.  That's something I always agonize over, but we won't go there.

Over the years, there have definitely been colors that I've recommended more times than others.  Colors that I've seen or used and know how they really look are the ones that I gravitate towards.

I've offered opinions to local customers on a regular basis for more than 2 decades, and now I'm sharing them with you, my fabulous and savvy readers.

Beginning with this post, I'm kicking off a new blog series devoted to showcasing my favorite paint colors. Today I'm featuring one of Benjamin Moore's most popular colors of all time, Wythe Blue, #HC-143.  It's one of my very favorites.

Wythe Blue is somewhere between a blue, green and gray.  It's soft, but not washed out.  As with any color, it will appear lighter if used outdoors...sunlight always makes colors look lighter.  And that doesn't mean that it fades.  The sun has a way of washing out colors.  You probably already know this if you've ever painted the outside of your house.

My friend Holly over at Storywood Designs recently painted her front door with Wythe Blue.  Doesn't it look great?  It really complements the classic taupe, white, and black color combination she has.  It makes the entrances stand out, but not too much.  Great job, Holly!

I love this Wythe Blue bookcase with the Tangerine Tango inside.  Two of my favorite colors.

Another gorgeous front door in Wythe Blue.  The street number decals are available from sweet Miss Leen at Leen the Graphics Queen.  Don't you just love it all?

Benjamin Moore named Wythe Blue as 2012's color of the year.  Here it is in a dining room.  They've used it with Storm Cloud Gray on the trim, Battenberg on the ceiling, and accents of gold and soft green.  It goes with so many different colors.

It has a more gray appearance in this photo, as it would in lower lighting conditions or at night.  Colors tend to do that...change with the lighting.  It's a nice background color for all the various prints and colors on the plates.

So, have you ever used Wythe Blue?  Do you have a favorite paint color?  I'd love to know about it! Tell me about it and I might feature it in one of my posts!

By chance do you know the main house color in Leen the Graphics Queens photo? The shingle color is awesome.
