Summer Front Porch Decor ~ Procrastinator’s Tour

/ / /

Lazy hot days. Icy cold drinks. Sunshine, laughter, and flowers. That’s what summers are made of. Or something like that. We’ve got the flowers and the hot days for sure. And are sharing some of what summer means to us today on our front porch tour, part of the Procrastinators Summer Porch Tour. Better late than never!

What’s a procrastinators tour? It’s a group of home decor and DIY bloggers who have exciting, busy lives and are just getting around to decorating and showing their porches. The exciting lives part might be a stretch (for me at least), but you get the idea. You’ve seen lots of other summer porch tours but we’re just now doing ours. Saving the best for last, no doubt! 🙂

All of the procrastinating bloggers are listed at the bottom of the post so be sure to drop by and see their amazing porches and say hello while you’re there!

Our home and front porch is nothing fancy, although we did get a new storm door this spring. lol. The house is slated to be painted soon and the gray will be gone. The gray is okay, but I’m really looking forward to a new look for the siding. Hopefully this fall when the weather cools off that project will be completed. It will be a medium taupe/gray color.

Anyway, the Adirondack chairs got a good scrubbing and I added a couple of outdoor pillows for some color and comfort. My brother-in-law made these chairs for us a few years ago and we love them.

I just got the old red wagon last week and am completely smitten. It was my dad’s when he was a little boy and his eyes glisten when he talks about how much he used to ride in it. His uncle (my great uncle) completely restored it for him a couple of years ago and it’s in perfect condition now.

On the table between the chairs, I put some succulents in and old metal file box and put a couple of old wooden croquet balls out for display.

The tic-tac-toe adds another pop of color. The church birdhouse was made from old building materials. I bought it at a craft fair in Nashville about 10 years ago.

Use large pots of flowers in a wagon and set out an old watering can for more character. A vintage olive bucket is a fun way to add more character to your outdoor decor.

The purple and yellow look so happy together in that vibrant red wagon. I love walking up to this whenever I come home.

That does is for our summer front porch tour. Thanks so much for stopping by. What’s your favorite thing here?

  1. I'm a procrastinator about decorating my porch as well…I LOVE the idea of using the wagon, sadly I just gave away my daughter's old wagon. Your porch is lovely, I'm off to check out all the other procrastinators!

    1. Hi Cheryl. I seem to be a bit of a procrastinator on many things. I'm glad I waited this time since I just got the wagon! Thanks for dropping by!

  2. Ok, Angie, so I LOVE your porch, those chairs and that wagon are amazing. But…darn you…your links lured me to Decor Steals and I've been shopping! 😉

    1. Thanks Kim. The chairs are so comfortable and I'm in love with the wagon! Sorry about the shopping thing…I'm addicted to their items and use them all around the house, inside and outside. 😊

  3. Sorry if this is a duplicate! My internet service went down as I was hitting Submit…. I love your red wagon on the porch! We have an old one we use for one of our fairy gardens. Your porch looks great!

    1. Hi Shelley. A fairy garden in an old wagon sounds like a great idea! They're so fun. Thanks for dropping by!

  4. Your porch looks so comfy and cozy! Love the wagon idea! I have Adirondacks on my front porch too and I love those things! Oddly enough my BIL made mine, but I'm assuming he's not the same guy as your BIL 🙂

    1. Thanks Pam. We love the chairs and the wagon. So funny that your bil made yours too. It's nice to have talented carpenters in the family. Fortunately I can usually bribe him with homemade pecan pie. 🙂

  5. Angie, It so special to have family memories to share. The things family makes and those treasured well loved objects. I also adore the tic tac toe!

    1. I agree, Jeanette. Family pieces or things that have special meaning add so much to a home. Thanks for dropping by!

  6. I'm in LOVE! No doubt, that wagon won my heart. Love how it was restored to perfection. What a neat way to hold on to your Dad's memories!

    Your porch is so inviting!

    1. Thanks Donna! I'm so glad to have it. It will be fun to decorate it for fall and the holidays as well. Thanks for dropping by and also for sharing all the photos from beautiful Maui! We were there 3 years ago and hope to get back someday.

  7. I love the radio flyer wagon. I know you're excited to have it. Vintage decor gets me every time. Your porch is beautiful.

    1. Thanks, Kathy. I am glad to have it. I've always thought they were fun to decorate with but having the one my dad played with in the 40's and 50's is so special. And you know I have a thing for vintage items too!

  8. Oh my gosh…that wagon!! I have the wagon my kids used around here somewhere, I think. Maybe I should dig it out! Love your porch!

    1. Definitely dig it out! You can do a lot of different things with them. Thanks for dropping by!

  9. Love the wagon with the pots and the accents on the table are great. Very welcoming space I think I need to change up my front porch.

    1. Thanks, Carole! It was all really easy to do. The hardest thing about the whole project was cleaning the white chairs. Thanks for dropping by. 🙂
