Tell Me What You Want (what you really, really want)

Do you ever catch yourself saying things like, “If they would have only asked me I would have told them…”. Or has anyone ever said, “If I had wanted your opinion I would have asked”. Well, guess what? Today is your lucky day because I’m asking for and really, really want your input on which direction to go with this blog thing. This is your chance to make a difference in what you see here.

Earlier this month I was at the Haven conference and we had a fabulous keynote speaker, Jon Acuff. Although I honestly had never heard of him before, he had a great message that everyone there seemed to embrace. The main point was to listen to you, our readers. You’re the reason we’re here. Without you there’s no point in posting anything.

So today I’m taking a detour from my regular scheduled topics and asking you, my lovely readers, what you want to see here.

Don’t hold back. I want to know what you like and what you don’t like. That’s not an invitation to be rude, but if there’s something that you just don’t like about this site please let me know.

Here are some things I would like to know, in addition to anything you want to mention.

  • What are your favorite things about the blog?
  • What are your least favorite things?
  • What new things would you like to see here?
  • What do you not want to see here?
  • Is the site easy to read and navigate?

It would mean a lot to me if you took a few moments and shared your opinions. I’m at a crossroads with this blog since my regular job ended at the end of May and I’d like some input on which direction to go. Some things I’m considering adding, if anyone is interested, are:

  • home tours
  • favorite things posts
  • vintage/found goods for sale
  • environmentally friendly cleaning recipes
  • organizing series
  • home purge challenge
  • YOUR SUGGESTIONS

Also, would you be interested in purchasing items like the ones shown in our home? If so, which ones? I’m looking into several vendors with farmhouse and vintage European wares and might add them and some “found” items for sale here…if anyone is interested.

As far as current and previous content goes, do your prefer

  • Furniture makeovers?
  • Decor/design advice?
  • Favorite paint colors?
  • More recipes?
  • Additional photography posts?
  • More personal stories?
  • Tips and tutorials?

I’m very open to ideas at this point. I’ll thoroughly read and consider each comment and will let you know what the consensus is.

I sincerely appreciate you taking a few moments to let me know your thoughts. Tell me what you really, really want!!!

Thanks for dropping by!

P.S. I have that song stuck in my head now, too!

XOXOX,

Angie

  1. First of all let me say that I love your posts and I always seem to learn something. Your photography posts were good and since I am trying to improve that was very helpful. Also when you gave a heads up on some cleaning supplies I purchased them and was very pleased with the results. I love learning about paint colors and combinations. I walk into a paint store and I knew what I wanted (or thought) when I went in and then seeing all those colors just bombard my senses and I'm confused. But I really think you need to ask what do you like to do?? Because when you are passionate about something it comes through and the reader becomes enthused. I hope that helps — I really enjoy what you write and your photos. Thank you Angie.

    1. Thank you so much for telling me all of that. I hope to do some more photography tips soon. It's definitely something I'm passionate about. And it's been a while since I've done a favorite color post so look for more of those in the future as well. There are so many things I enjoy doing, I just want to be sure that other people are actually interested in reading about them. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts. Have a great day! ~ Angie

  2. It seems to me that you are going in the right direction with the additions you are making, your blog will be even better!!!
