Hello, friends! Welcome to our living room that's all decked out for Christmas. If you're dropping by after visiting the lovely Farmhouse on Boone, thanks for taking the tour and I hope you're getting lots of great ideas for your Christmas decor. There are so many beautiful homes on this year's Home for the Holidays tour, organized by Jenna at Wife in Progress. Be sure to drop by and visit her if you haven't already! And you'll definitely want to see all the tours at the bottom of the post.

If you're here for the first time, I'd love to get to know you better. And you can learn a little more about me and this blog HERE. You can take a tour of our home HERE.

Christmas mantel with pine cone wreath, snowy little houses, cedar garland

I'm so happy to be able to share this room with you today for a couple of reasons.

First of all, I've NEVER shared a Christmas version of this fireplace in the 6+ years that I've been blogging. Why? Because it was a reddish brown colored brick that clashed with any Christmas decor that I've ever tried to use on it.

Second, because I've got some beautiful, cozy new items to display on the mantel, thanks to Joann Fabrics. They reached out to me a few weeks ago about partnering with them for a holiday post and I knew this would be the perfect place to add their pretty decor. So nearly everything on the fireplace and mantel is from their store. I usually try to use items that I have on hand but since this spot didn't have anything the timing was perfect.

Thanks Joann Fabrics

I'll share details of everything at the end of the post in case you're interested.

Farmhouse Christmas mantel with house shaped lanterns, pine cone wreath, vintage tin tiles

I painted our brick with a unique paint finish a couple of months ago (go HERE to see what I did) and love the way our new Christmas decor looks against it.

metal house shaped lantern, bottle brush trees, farmhouse mantel

Here in Tennessee we don't get a lot of snow and rarely have a white Christmas. It actually 66° here today as I was finishing this post! But I'm a romantic at heart and love the idea of a snowy Christmas so that's the theme of the mantel. I used 2 of these metal house shaped lanterns to anchor the mantel. They sit on a layer of "snow".

The garland has glittery sparkles that give the appearance of frosty branches and berries. I added some pretty white ribbon to it to dress it up a little.

I added some charming little glittery houses to the scene. They look like they're covered in snow and frost. And they light up too!

The smaller houses are actually ornaments (see the gold string) but that didn't stop me from using them on our mantel. Isn't this little church so charming?

The pine cone wreath is one of my favorite elements. It has the natural look that I adore and the touches of white paint and glitter give it a wintry, frosty vibe. Just like it's been kissed with snow. And the ombre green bottle brush trees add some contrast to all of it.

The JOY sign adds a cozy pop of green to the hearth. The plaid throws in the old wire egg crate make a nice place for it to rest.

I clipped the magnolia branches from the tree in the front yard to fill up the firebox. And the old tin tile plaques add a touch more green to the scene. I found them several months ago at a vintage fair that came to town.

Over in front of the window is our tree and some more decor. The snowy theme continues on the tree with some snowflake ornaments that I've had for years. The wide metallic ribbon on the tree, the red velvet ribbon, and the gift bags all came from Joann.

I also picked up the craft paper wrapping paper there. So classic and simple.

The green ribbon adds the perfect finishing touch to our wood lantern. Some branch clippings, pine cones, and vintage ornaments fill in around the flameless LED candles.

Come back later this week and you'll see the night time tour of the room. The houses look so pretty at night! And the tree and lantern are magical as well.

And now, the list of items I used in the room. If you didn't know, Joann is much more than fabric and crafts. They have some amazing home decor as well.

  1. Love your mantel decor! That pinecone wreath is fabulous! And I adore the glittery houses. I just might have to pop over to JoAnn's and get me some. Now I'm off to read about your fireplace! It looks wonderful - I'd love to paint mine and get rid of the orange brick.

  10. Angie, the pinecone wreath is a wonderful focal point on your mantle. I love the color that the blankets get and the big wire basket is the perfect place to store them but let the color and pattern come through. Super pleased to be introduced to your great style on the blog hop.

  13. Your mantel is just dreamy....as in I'm dreaming of a white Christmas! Such great items and you styled them all perfectly. I just love all the things JoAnn's has for Christmas. I am so tempted every time I go in there and with their sales and coupons, it's almost too hard to pass things up. I did buy three pillows this year for my window seat and some retro miniature campers and cars to make glass jar scenes. Thankfully I have a JoAnn's near me!
