Just killin' time

I've been playing around with photoshop lightroom this afternoon while I procrastinate cleaning house.  It's always so amazing what I can get done when I'm supposed to be doing something else.  Is it just me?

Anyway, I snapped these photos on Thursday afternoon in the back yard and tweaked them a little bit this afternoon.  Enjoy!

A few more wet nandina leaves.

I hope you have a lovely weekend and get to waste some time at some point.

Wordless Wednesday

Happy Wednesday from my front porch to yours.

Anticipation! Nearly complete master bath remodel pics

Remember that song from the 70's called "Anticipation"?  Carly Simon sang it.  Heinz used it for a ketchup commercial in the 80's, I think.  They showed the ketchup barely moving out of the bottle, and you just knew it was going to be worth the wait.  With some extra crispy fries.  Yum.

Well, that's what we've been dealing with.  Minus the ketchup.

Our master bath remodel is finished with the exception of our shower door splurge.  It will be another week and a half for that, but I couldn't wait that long to share some pictures.

So without further ado, here's what's been happening here in the ridge.

Hoping, waiting, wishing

Any Jack Johnson fans out there in bloggyland?  I love his music and his laid back surfer mentality.  I was listening to the Jack Johnson station on pandora yesterday as I cleaned house and occasionally checked in on the workers in our master bathroom.

And I was hoping, waiting, wishing.

Warning:  this post contains photos that may be offensive to those who love brass.  Real brass objects were used in the making of this post, and some of these objects were permanently changed in the process.  If this bothers you, it might be advisable to skip this post.  :)

Ok.  Now that you have been warned, I can show you what I've been up to this week.  Our bathroom remodel is moving forward with just a snag or two.  But it is moving forward and that's good.

The damaged floor underneath the shower has been replaced.  The chosen walls have been removed or moved.  Drywall is being primed today.  Exhaust fan is in.  Floor tile is in.  Wall tiles are backordered but will be in next Friday.  Shower floor tiles are going in today.  It's beginning to look like it might be a bathroom again someday in the future!
