Favorite Paint Color ~ Marblehead Gold

Happy Hues-day, friends! Welcome to Favorite Color Day on the blog!  Each Tuesday (aka Hues-day) a different color is featured here.  Today's color is Benjamin Moore Marblehead Gold, HC-11.

Marblehead Gold is a rich gold with a mustard hue.  It makes a bold statement and is a great complement to many other colors.

Way out West ~ Our summer vacation

Hello friends!  As I write this post and realize that summer is almost over, I'm blown away at how fast it has gone by.  I can't believe that our kids start back to school in just over 2 weeks!

We were lucky enough to get to take a family trip out west earlier this month and today I'm sharing some pictures of the highlights of our trip.  Be warned, there are quite a few photos in this post, but the scenery was amazing and I hope you enjoy the photos half as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Scroll down to get a sneak peek of what we saw as we drove through Arizona, Nevada, and California...canyons, valleys, forests, mountains, lakes, and oceans.  And a few beautiful sunsets along the way.

Sunrise at the Grand Canyon.  This was the first morning of our trip and was a wonderful way to start it.

Favorite Paint Color ~ Benjamin Moore Quiet Moments

Happy hues-day, friends!  It's Tuesday, so that means today is Favorite Color Day here on the blog!  A different color is featured each week.

Today's color is Benjamin Moore Quiet Moments, #1563.  It's one of my very favorites.

Gallery Buff and Wythe Blue Painted Vintage Secretary Hutch

Hello friends!  I thought it was time to reveal a finished project that's been several months in the making.  Not because it was a really big project, but because I've got the speed of a turtle sometimes.

I FINALLY finished giving a makeover to the secretary desk that I bought from a local customer waaaay back in February.  And I kinda like the way it turned out.

Favorite Paint Color ~ Benjamin Moore Chelsea Gray

Hello friends, and Happy Hues-day!  Tuesday is officially favorite color day here on the blog so it's been renamed "Hues-day".  Each week a different color is featured.  This week's favorite color is Benjamin Moore Chelsea Gray, HC-168.

Chelsea Gray is a deep, warmer gray, as opposed to being a cool, blue-gray.  It leans a little towards taupe, but is still a true gray.  Warm colors would be good accents for Chelsea Gray.

What summertime looks like to me

Hello, friends! I hope everyone is having a great day.

We're traveling today, but I thought I'd share some images of summertime with you.  I snapped these a couple of weeks ago at my parents' lake house.  We usually spend the 4th down there, but our travel plans didn't allow us to this year.

I posted this pic of the neighbors chairs on facebook a couple of weeks ago.  The lake waters were way up due to some recent heavy rains.  I took the picture early in the morning and there was a light fog the made it appear like it was blurry.  Notice the lone fisherman in the top right.

Favorite Paint Color ~ Benjamin Moore Manchester Tan

Happy 4th of July!

Favorite Paint Color ~ All American Edition

Happy Hues-day, friends!  Welcome to week 4 of my blog series about favorite paint colors.

In honor of Independence Day, the colors of the day are red, white, and blue.  Specifically, Benjamin Moore Caliente, White Dove, and Hudson Bay, (and also Gray Mist).

I hope everyone is getting prepared for a fabulous 4th of July.  I know we are!

Red, white, and blue will always be a classic in this country.  Although it's usually seen more in farmhouse or rustic decor, it can be used anywhere.
