Benjamin Moore Gray Wisp ~ Favorite Paint Color

/

Hello, friends! I’ve got another favorite color to share with you. Today’s favorite is Benjamin Moore Gray Wisp. It’s one of those colors that looks gray sometimes, blue sometimes, and green sometimes. The lighting and items against it really make a difference in how it appears.

I love this color. I’m hoping to eventually repaint our breakfast room with Benjamin Moore Gray Wisp. It looks nice against wood tones, whites, and neutrals. And it’s a great backdrop for a variety of accent colors.

Here’s a great example of how well it mixes with whites, dark wood floors, and even browns and grays. Don’t you love the wood beams in this room? I do.

Peaceful Bedroom Painted with Benjamin Moore Gray Wisp

Soft blues and grays are always wonderful colors for bedrooms. Again in this space, the Gray Wisp blends nicely with the dark wood floors and neutral area rug.

Kitchen Cabinets Painted with Gray Wisp

In this kitchen space, these cabinets were first painted with Gray Wisp and then glazed with a brown wax. I love the look of this and would like to have it in our house somewhere.

Gray Wisp Modern Bathroom

Such a snazzy bathroom in this photo. It’s clean and serene. And another example of how nicely Gray Wisp goes with neutral shades.

Farmhouse Living Room in Gray Wisp

In this space, the Gray Wisp walls are a nice subtle background for the furniture and accent rug. The white beadboard is a nice contrast and looks pretty against the oak floors. I love the comfortable feeling of this room.

And lastly, here’s a sneak peek of a piece of furniture I painted with Gray Wisp recently. I did some layering techniques and gave it a very worn look. Watch for a full reveal of this piece later this week.

Try a Sample

Ready to try a sample? I recommend buying a color sample and painting a board or section of your wall. Or consider using a peel and stick reusable sample from Samplize.

So what do you think of Gray Wisp? Love it? Hate it? Or indifferent to it? I’d love to hear what you think.

Thanks so much for dropping by!

  1. That is a lovely color….I have a lot of red in my home, and quite a lot of antique pine in custom made furniture. We have had a red dining room wall, but I am thinking that I might like a change. I will get a sample of this…it has to deal with walnut paneling on one side, pine dining room furniture in the middle, and antique white on the other two sides. I know, I know…it's a mess to get it "right" :^)
Many thanks for the hint…I will get out for samples in the next week or so.
    I apprecieate you!!

  3. Is Gray Wisp the color that Restoration Hardware's Silver Sage was based on? I'm pretty sure that's the color I used to paint our interior hall because I loved the look of it in the Resto stores. It definitely changes color in different light… more so that almost any other color I've seen. I love, love, love the color in a room with good natural light but ended up repainting our hall because it was too green with my horrible interior overhead lighting in the hall. I'd love to try it again in a bright space!

  4. Yes…Gray Wisp IS RH Silver Sage. BM developed the original color for RH. RH then decided to break away from BM and retained the name Silver Sage. BM just renamed the color Gray Wisp. I used it when it was the original Silver Sage back in the 90s, and I used Gray Wisp in my current house that we recently remodeled. It is a timeless color and everyone asks me what it is. I love it.

  5. Thanks for info! Do you think grey wisp would look nice in kitchen?
Using BM Silver Chain, which is light grey on cabinets. TIA!
