Moen Brantford Kitchen Faucet Installation and Review

Today I’m sharing my experience with installing the Moen Brantford kitchen faucet. It was easy, even for someone like me who has never installed a kitchen faucet.

Moen Brantford Kitchen Faucet

I’ve been busy with several small projects lately and wanted to reveal one of my favorite ones today. And I have to say that I feel like a kid with a new toy after finishing this project.

Our old kitchen faucet had been leaky for a while, and it also had a lower profile than we liked. It was difficult to get large pots or pitchers underneath.

We wanted and needed to change out the old one and had been looking at the gooseneck or high arc type with the pull down sprayer. Thanks to National Builder Supply and Moen, we were able to upgrade to a gorgeous new faucet that was exactly what we had been wanting.

Here’s the old faucet. Just the basics.

And here’s what it looked like every time we turned it on.

I’ve never installed or removed a faucet, but having an indpendent spirit and a can-do attitude, I really wanted to do this project myself.

The first thing I had to do was remove everything from underneath the sink so I could access the space. This was a good opportunity to purge and clean this area.

I’ll be honest. The most difficult part of this project was removing the old faucet, which took about 2 hours. I’ve never attempted this before and did most of it by myself, but had to get my husband to assist on unscrewing some plastic pieces that I couldn’t get to budge. I just don’t have the upper body strength for that.

Once the old faucet was removed, I scrubbed the area around the holes before beginning the installation of the new one.

For the installation of the new Moen Brantford faucet, first I laid out all of the parts exactly like they were shown in the illustrated diagram so I would know exactly which one was being referred to in the instructions.

Because the instructions provided with the faucet were very easy to understand, even for a beginner, I’m not going to give a step by step guide for you. If there had been any question at all, there is a video on the Moen site that walks through the instructions as well, but I didn’t have to use that.

After putting the faucet together, attaching all of the supply lines and tightening it all, I installed the motion sensor and attached everything to it.  The the battery pack was then installed and hooked up and the faucet was ready to use!

The installation process, not counting removing the old faucet, probably took 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Not bad for someone who has NEVER done this before.

Here’s how it looks after I cleaned up the area and put everything back in its place.

I love the height of it. The Moen Brantford is a really beautiful faucet, don’t you think?

The sprayer pulls out and the water flow can be changed by clicking the large black button on the front of it.

There are 2 motion sensors on it if you need hands-free water.

Or you can simply use the lever to turn it on.

Here’s one sensor near the base of the faucet. It shuts off automatically after a couple of seconds. It’s nice if you just need to dampen a cloth or wet your hands quickly.

The second sensor is at the top. Both sensors detect motion from about an inch or two away. The water temperature is preset by adjusting the box that I installed underneath the sink.

All that’s left to do it enjoy our new faucet, which we’ve already started doing! Now if I could only get it to wash dishes, it would be the most amazing faucet on the planet. Seriously though, I am in LOVE with this faucet and find myself making excuses to turn it on. I’ve never enjoyed washing dishes so much!

  1. Your new faucet is beautiful and I'm so impressed that you installed it yourself! We got one of the hands-free faucets from Delta last summer, but we paid someone to install it for us. I absolutely love it and would like to put one in our bathroom! Perhaps you could come and install it for us???

  2. I like your idea of laying out all the pieces just like the instruction show. Somehow that step always gets overlooked in my house when were doing an install. Your new faucet is beautiful and it looks like it's going to give you so much more space to work with in your sinks.

  3. I have several stories about the adventures of replacing faucets in old houses. They are not pretty.
