Bedroom Inspiration and Affordable Headboards

Not too long ago we added an upholstered headboard in the master bedroom after having the mattresses simply resting on a frame for several years. We had upgraded from a full size bed to a queen and I didn't know exactly what I wanted, so we didn't have a headboard. Although I liked the idea of building one myself, I'm not good with that kind of thing so the DIY never happened. And I mistakenly thought that all upholstered headboards were super expensive. I'm very budget conscious so I didn't really consider buying one until I did a some research and found some very affordable ones. It was such a simple and inexpensive way to upgrade the look of the room that I'm not sure what took us so long! Today I'm sharing some bedroom decorating ideas plus some very affordable sources for headboards. Get ready to be inspired!

How to Unclog a Kitchen Sink - The Simple, Inexpensive, and Chemical-Free Way

Our kitchen sink developed a clog and was draining extremely slow over the weekend. And naturally, we had guests coming for dinner. Fortunately we were planning to eat and hang out in the back yard and using disposable plates, so it wasn't a complete disaster. We were able to eventually clear the clog and now the sink is draining the way it should. And I didn't have to pay a plumber to fix it! Woot!!

How to Give an 80's Oak Table a Facelift

We've all seen and maybe even grew up with the iconic 80's oak pedestal table. My parents had one and it was comfy and sturdy and still is today. But the look is so dated! I've had one in our house for a while and recently gave it a much needed facelift and added some new chairs. It made such an improvement to it.

Country Roads ~ Abandoned Barns and Wildflowers in Rural Tennessee

The road less traveled is often the most scenic. Well, sometimes anyway. I spent a day with my parents and sister meandering through rural Tennessee on some desolate gravel roads. We saw a plethora of beautiful spring wildflowers and old abandoned homes and barns. It was heaven to a nature loving, back roads fan, and photography nerd like me.

Kitchen Island Dreams

I'm dreaming of a new or (at least updated) kitchen island and have been searching pinterest and the web for ideas. There are so many possibilities! The one above is sooo dreamy. The patina, the marble top, those chunky curvy legs...wouldn't it be a conversation piece? But alas, it has no storage. I've found lots of other inspiring islands on my search and I'm sharing them with you today.
