Today’s theme is tablescapes, and I’m sharing a simple, rustic table I put
together using branches I clipped from our yard, items from the grocery store,
and some pieces I had on hand. Simple is my middle name these days as I’ve
been purging and only using things that I love in our house.

Natural Rustic Christmas Table

For this tablescape, I used some vintage silverware I picked up a few weeks
ago. It’s from 1946 and I’ve really fallen in love with it. I got most of it
from an estate sale and picked up a few more pieces to finish the set
here

Christmas table with carved white wood chargers and linen napkins

My favorite
white charger plates, some
holiday dinner plates, and vintage bread plates make up the bulk of the place setting. It’s a mix of
formal and casual, farmhouse and cottage, old and new.

A basic burlap table runner
anchors all of it and adds some texture to the table.

A simple rolled up
linen napkin
finishes off the plates. I wrapped some twine around it and then tucked in a
sprig of boxwood that I clipped from the back yard. I tied on a
small glass ornament
to give it a little pizazz.

I’ve had the glasses for several years and the brown works well with the
earthy theme and the brown holiday plates.

Keeping it simple on the centerpiece are some pomegranates and holly tucked
into a
wooden dough bowl.

Some pine cones and nandina branches add a bit more color and texture to the
table. And the
mini ornaments
bring a touch of bling to the setting.

Since we don’t have a dining room, this is on our breakfast room table that
we eat at every day. It usually doesn’t have much on it besides a few crumbs
and I’m really liking the simple decor. I’ll keep it like this through the
holidays.
