Hello, friends! At long last, fall has arrived. We’re still waiting on the cooler temperatures to get here, but it’s supposed to cool off this weekend. And in celebration of its arrival, I’m joining with some of my talented blogging friends for a fall home tour. The lovely Kendra at Joy in Our Home coordinated the tour, and I’m sure you’ll find tons of inspiration for your fall decorating. Be sure to come back throughout the week and visit everyone.

Here’s the lineup for this week:

If you’re visiting here from the tour for the first time, WELCOME! You can see what this blog is all about HERE.

Now, let’s get this tour started!

Fall Home Tour

Entry

fall pumpkins and plaid blanket

Our home was built in the 1960’s and we have the original slate floor in the entry. Some people might have ripped it out and replaced it, but we love it. The stone is organic and has a rich blue-green hue, and it will never wear out. A common theme in our home is organic and simple, and you’ll see a lot of this here today.

A few vintage books with some baby white pumpkins add a simple fall vibe to the top of the desk in our entry. And underneath, some larger pumpkins nestled with a market basket and a fall colored blanket scarf add a little fall color to the entry. Nothing fancy or complicated at all.

Breakfast Room

fall table ideas

The breakfast room is where we eat dinner, so I’m not sure why it’s called that. Anyway, it has the simple and organic vibe as well.

red pear and blue napkin table setting

For the table, I added a burlap table runner as a base. Then I added our woven natural placemats, some fall dishes, blue linen napkins, and some pears I picked up at the grocery store. The felted wool acorns and glass bead acorns are some that I’ve had for several years.

In the center of the table I added some dried hydrangeas to my vintage copper pitcher and placed it on a vintage style cutting board from my shop.

A few pressed leaves and some little white pumpkins add a bit more of a fall vibe to the table.

white dishes in farmhouse oak hutch

Our farmhouse hutch has white dishes in it year round, but I added some brown transferware and some of my fall dishes for a fall touch.

old silverware in white creamer

Vintage silver is one of many things that I can’t seem to resist when I find it.

And little ironstone creamers are so fun to collect.

The brown transferware is the perfect addition to the hutch for fall.

Family Room

faux pumkins in a wood dough bowl

Our family room is the coziest room in the house and where we spend most evenings. Behind the sofa I added a few faux pumpkins, pine cones, and pressed leaves to a dough bowl for a fall vibe.

And a few more underneath the sofa table, tucked inside of a vintage milk crate

tall wood candlesticks with faux pumpkins

For more fall color, I added a some faux pumpkins to these tall candlesticks, along with some vintage books nestled between some shabby bookends

fall fireplace with plaid and fall colors

Over at the fireplace are lots of fall colors. The vintage painting is one of my favorite fall items with its colorful trees. And it coordinates perfectly with my favorite plaid wool throw blanket and fall blanket scarf. The mid-century arm chair is a great color for fall too.

vintage amber beer bottle with wheat

A couple of vintage amber beer bottles are a fun addition. I stuck a few pieces of dried wheat in them for a fall touch.

And of course, vintage books and dried hydrangeas are part of the scene in here, along with some found wooden candlesticks and birch wrapped candles.

Aren’t those hydrangea petals gorgeous? They look like a watercolor painting. (Go HERE to see my simple method for drying hydrangeas.)

oak leaf print on fireplace mantel

Earlier this month I shared our living room fireplace along with a set of 3 free vintage oak leaf printables. If you missed it and want to snag the printables, go HERE for that post.
