Vintage-Themed End of Summer Party with Tillamook

Thank you Tillamook for sponsoring this post. Visit your local Food City and pick up your favorite Tillamook cheeses and ice cream today!

Burgers and ice cream. Ice cream and burgers. Does it get any better than that for an end of summer party? Yes, it does. But only if you’re lucky enough to have ice cream and cheese from Tillamook at the party. If you’re not familiar with Tillamook, let me tell you a little about them and why we love them.

A couple of years ago we took a family vacation out to the Pacific Northwest and saw much of beautiful Washington and Oregon. (You can read about our trip HERE.) We visited lots of interesting places, including the Tillamook Creamery in Tillamook, Oregon. We fell in love with their creamy ice creams and cheeses that are made from only the highest quality ingredients. As part of Tillamook’s Dairy Done Right philosophy, there are no artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners, and no high fructose corn syrup.

We were also happy when we found their ice cream and cheeses recently at our local grocery store, Food City. Woohoo! Now we don’t have to travel to the PNW to get their products. So when we had a little end of summer party we knew we wanted to include their yummy ice cream and cheeses.

We added the delicious farm-style, thick-cut sharp cheddar to our burgers and they were out of this world. Tillamook ages their cheddar for nine months for the perfect sharpness and the farm-style cuts are nice and thick so you get more cheese in each bite. We topped them with homegrown tomatoes, lettuce, and all the fixins’ and they disappeared quickly.

For dessert, we savored the flavors of Tillamook’s Mudslide and Vanilla Bean ice creams. They’re so rich and creamy and were the perfect way to end our meal. Tillamook ice creams have more cream and less air and each bite is oh so smooth and creamy. Is your mouth watering yet?

dried hydrangeas and vintage school books

Since I have a passion for vintage items, I rounded up a few of my old school books for a bit of a back to school theme for our party. Isn’t the biology book pretty?

Calculus, French, anatomy and physiology, and a high school handbook of composition added to the vintage theme. I love the colors of these old books.

And although we’re not quite over the hill, the hubs and I get more vintage each year. Enjoying delicious Tillamook ice cream together out on the deck on a warm summer night will never get old for us though.

If you want a tasty way to enjoy your end of summer meals and cookouts, be sure to add one of the many Tillamook cheese and ice creams to the mix. There are plenty of varieties to choose from. I purchased mine at our local Food City and you can find out where it’s located near you HERE.

Thanks for dropping by! Enjoy the rest of your summer!
