Are you ready for more ideas for Christmas decor and gifts? Today I’m joining the Celebrate Christmas blog hop hosted by Leen at Sand Dollar Lane. There are 26 home bloggers and we’re sharing tours, diy gift ideas, and tips for Christmas tablescapes. All of the ideas are at the bottom of the post so keep going when you finish here. If you’re coming over from Aratari at Home, welcome! Don’t you love her cozy Christmas living room?

I’m sharing our family room mantel and our little entry all decked out with some of my favorite vintage finds. On the hearth, I’ve got some chunky knit stockings hanging from a rusty old section of an iron fence. It’s always fun for me to find unusual ways to use my stash (hoard). And I’m trying to use what I have or say goodbye to it since I have way too much. I actually didn’t buy anything new for this Christmas mantel. I just borrowed from other spaces and used things I already had, and a couple of little items from my shop. I love it when that happens.

A couple more stockings are draped over some chippy old spindles. Why not, right? Use it or lose it. I’m using it, lol.

And the star of the mantel is my collection of old white ironstone pitchers. I use them as vases when I have flowers. And most of the time they’re in our old oak hutch. But I needed something neutral to go with the blue mantel and these worked like a dream. I added a few pomegranates, holly clippings, and a red stripe ribbon for some Christmas color.

What do you think of my blue mantel? I gave this fireplace a makeover earlier this year with nothing but paint. It previously had black marble and a dark brown mantel and I worked some magic on it without spending much at all. It was a challenge figuring out how to decorate it for Christmas, but I love the way it turned out.

The tree adds some more holiday spirit to the scene, and the baby eucalyptus wreath gives texture and color the the space above the mantel.

The arched window frame isn’t old but it looks like it is so it works well with my vintage goodies. It adds a nice vertical element to the mantel and is a great backdrop for just about anything.

Cozy Natural Christmas Entry

small entry with botanical prints on walls and cozy Christmas decor

In our entry I went pretty simple with the decor because of all the pattern on the walls. I’m still loving my fern botanicals after having them up since January. This space didn’t need much else. I started with this pretty branch I found with red berries a little bird nest in it. Isn’t it adorable?

Lately I’m more and more drawn to organic, natural, and vintage items so this fit the bill perfectly. It has an old-fashioned, homespun feeling to it.

A couple of vintage green books tied up with plaid ribbon add a nice dash of Christmas spirit to the top of my little desk. And the old lamp and mirror stay in here all year. They go with everything.

The natural theme continues with some dried orange slices, cinnamon sticks, and little pine cones nestled in an old ironstone sugar bowl.

One of my most cherished belongings is this old colorful quilt. It belonged to my grandmother and was actually made in the 1940’s from fabric swatches that came out of an upholstery sample book. Now that’s being resourceful!

I love the rich colors and textures of the old velvet and tapestry fabrics.

And just for fun, I added a little red Santa sleigh from my shop. I tucked a small tree inside it and draped it with a wood bead garland (also from my shop).

It fills up the space next to my old basket nicely. And that big ole’ basket? I snagged it at a yard sale for $5 many years ago. I love filling it up with colorful blankets and throws.
